The end of December 2023 is a dark day for Vitaa and her family. Although no one was injured, the fear and trauma were very present. She returned to this dark period in the documentary Vitaa, my name is Charlottebroadcast this Friday November 22, 2024 on TMC.
Vitaa always wanted make a place for yourself in the world of music. The many closed doors never made him give up. Her artistic and human encounter with Diam's changed everything for her. The singer has now been part of the French music scene for more than 15 years. She had a string of successes and became a reference for new generations. The proof: she became godmother of the Star Academy in 2023.
Son influence a marked the students, and more particularly Clara, honored by a promise from Vitaa. However, the 41-year-old artist was faced with a painful ordeal at the end of last year. While a series of burglaries targeted several celebrities, Vitaa and her family were the targets of thugs. The interpreter of Promise me returned to this night of anguish in his documentary Vitaa, my name is Charlotte.
Vitaa and her family were not injured during the burglary
It is 6:30 a.m. when, in her sleep, Vitaa hears “loud knocks on a door“. While she is “in a nightie in front of the door [son] dressing”her husband tells her to call the police and go upstairs with the children. “In the two rooms upstairs, there are my daughter-in-law and my 20-month-old daughter”she remembers. She also remembers her traumatic encounter with one of the intruders: “There's a guy in front of me, with a bat, a balaclava, who raises his bat at me, who yells at me 'Give me the money, give me the jewelry'. I had horrible thoughts. I said to myself, 'He's going to rape me.'”confides Vitaa, still upset by the scene.
As she guides the burglar to her dressing room, Vitaa has still not called the police. “My daughter-in-law is on the floor with my daughter in her arms […] in tears, and I see my daughter looking at me. Luckily, my daughter-in-law managed to hide her phone“she says. This is where Vitaa was able to call the police, who came to the scene “four minutes”. Even if Vitaa then went on vacation to recharge her batteries with her family, the trauma remained present for a long time. “Living with the fear of being woken up in the middle of the night, of not being able to put anything in your home […] It makes you hate being famous“admits Vitaa. A page that she hopes to turn for good.
