On Sunday December 1, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., the Cité des Congrès in will host an unmissable play: A Big Cry of Love. Written by Josiane Balasko, this cult comedy returns to the stage with a choice cast, Alexandre Brasseur and Catherine Marchal in the lead, for a reunion full of love and humor.

An intrigue between passion and grudges

Gigi and Hugo, once a couple of adored artists, reunite years after their separation. Gigi, consumed by depression and alcohol, is called upon to replace her ex-husband's partner at short notice for an upcoming play. An explosive situation where grudges, low blows and scathing dialogues punctuate their reunion in the spotlight.

Under the direction of Éric Laugérias, A Big Cry of Love brilliantly mixes humor, tenderness and drama. The duo formed by Alexandre Brasseur and Catherine Marchal promises unforgettable performances, supported by Jean-Marie Lhomme and Fred Nony in tasty supporting roles.

Programming outside the walls

Due to the work in progress at the Théâtre d'Anzin, this performance is scheduled off-site at the Cité des Congrès in Valenciennes, an ideal setting to rediscover this iconic play.
