This November 20 took place the trial of Pierre Palmade who appeared at the Melun court more than a year and a half later
son grave accident car accident, which occurred on February 10, 2023. Accused of “unintentional injury” for causing an accident while under the influence of drugs, he was found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison, two of which were closed.
A sentence that surprised a lot of people. While some expected a “lighter” sentencewith the alternative of the electronic bracelet, for example, others are not upset by this verdict which they consider too lenient. This is particularly the case of Laurence, a listener of Europe 1, who gave a rant on the radio microphone this Thursday.
Conviction of Pierre Palmade: a sentence that does not pass for everyone
“I'm super angry, this is unacceptable”, says the 58-year-old woman who runs a guest house in Ain. Then added: “I wonder who is hiding what, who is sleeping with who, for it to be so light…”. Cyril Hanouna then spoke. “I'm going to tell you something that won't make you happy”, he says.
“In traffic offences, you should know that this is a very severe penalty compared to others.” And the host continued: “That's what's crazy, I'm not saying that Pierre Palmade must have a more lenient sentence, but everyone should have much harsher sentences”.
Pierre Palmade: “It’s madness”, a listener doesn’t get angry with Cyril Hanouna
Obviously very touched by this story, the listener reacted. “This woman who lost her baby… We know very well when we are pregnant that the baby is alive. The little kid who no longer has a jaw, who has been reconstructed… It's madness”, she says before declaring: “Traffic offenses should be incompressible at 5 years, and you have no sentence adjustment!”
The latter then gave her prognosis on Pierre Palmade's life in prison. “What is he going to do? He's going to show us that he has champagne in his prison, he's going to write a book behind it and he's going to do really well. I am outraged and disgusted!”
blurted out the indignant listener. “What bothers me is that there is murderers on the road (…) It's true that there is a laxity about this which is incredible”, concedes Cyril Hanouna.
