Storm Caetano left one seriously injured in Nantes this Thursday, November 21, 2024 in the early afternoon. Gusts exceeding 100 km/h shook the city, causing numerous objects, street furniture and several trees to fall onto the road.
North of Nantes, route de Saint-Joseph, a tree fell on a vehicle in traffic, “seriously” injuring its occupant, informs the Loire-Atlantique prefecture, confirming information from Presse Océan. Several emergency vehicles and a Smur team went to the scene.

At the Nantes weather station, located at the airport to the south of the city, a gust of 121 km/h was recorded at 3 p.m. The gusts were impressive in the city of Nantes, with many pedestrians struggling to walk and stand on the bridges overlooking the Loire at the height of the storm. Car traffic has been very complicated since the beginning of the afternoon in Nantes due to the closure of the Cheviré bridge.
