This Thursday in Loudéac, the town's technical services, on winter duty since November 1 and until April 1, were mobilized to deal with the snowfall that was expected in the area. “Since the day before, we had been informed of the risk of snow and ice in the south of Côtes-d'Armor,” indicates Laurent Chapron, head of the road department for technical services.
300 kg of salt dumped on the streets of Loudéac
As a result, this morning around 6:30 a.m., a team of two agents left with the salt spreader to mainly secure the streets of the city center, the main roads and access to schools. 300 kg of salt were used on this occasion. “We had planned a second on-call team for the truck with the snow blade but we did not need it,” adds Laurent Chapron. Very quickly at the start of the morning, the rain appeared, washing away the little snow that had fallen during the night.
Outside Loudéac, the RD700 was also the subject of treatment carried out by agents from the Trévé road operations center which reports to the Department. As a reminder, the scope of intervention of the operations center extends over 24 municipalities, from Quillio to Cambout, from Uzel to Plémet, via Loudéac, with the RD700 as its working area and its 10,000 vehicles which attend every day.
Risk of ice this Friday morning
On the other hand, the weather forecast predicted cold and humidity this Friday morning. “There is a risk of ice,” warns the head of the road department. We will still have two on-call officers to deal with the ice.” Like the day before, access to schools and main roads is privileged.
