Iran has always been in favor of mediation by Oman and Saudi Arabia with a view to normalizing its relations with Morocco, Baghaei said during a press conference, recalling that his country has never decided to break off relations with Morocco. The new Iranian government is working to strengthen ties with its neighbors and other countries, based on the principles of wisdom and mutual benefit, the spokesperson added.

For writer and political analyst Imad Ab Shinas, Iranian President Massoud Pezechkian will strive to normalize relations with all countries that have severed ties with Iran because of Israel. During an intervention on the DW channel in Arabic, he recalled that relations between Rabat and Tehran deteriorated after the former cultural attaché of the Iranian embassy in Algeria, Amir Moussavi, received delegates from Polisario.

Ab Shinas added that Iran accuses Israel and the United States of working to destroy its relations with Arab countries located in Africa, such as Morocco, Egypt and Sudan, also believing that Tehran has no interest strategic in Morocco nor in the MENA region.
