More than 150 km/h in Finistère
On the island of Bréhat, often faced with violent winds, gusts this Thursday afternoon reached up to 124 km/h, as reported by meteorologist Stéven Tual on the social network X (formerly Twitter). They are 155 km/h at Pointe du Raz; 148 km/h in Ouessant or 126 km/h in Saint-Nazaire. In Carhaix, the cross-country festival events had to be canceled due to these difficult weather conditions.
On the Breton island, branches that could fall on the passageways had to be removed, but no roads have yet been cut. As a reminder, during the storm Ciaranin November 2023, wind gusts were recorded above 165 km/h on the archipelago. The French observatory for tornadoes and violent storms Keraunos then noted 150 km/h in Pommerit-Jaudy; 145 km/h in Lannion or 138 km/h in Saint-Brieuc.
