Bheki, a depression filling up, will pass closer to the island towards the South. Its influence is moderate, however two yellow warnings, strong winds (from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and waves-submersion (from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) have been issued by Météo-France La Réunion services. Gusts (minimum 80 km/h) are expected in the East and West. A 4 meter swell is breaking along the east (Champ-Borne) and south-east (Cap-Chevron) coasts.

The weather, this Thursday, November 21, 2024, is strongly influenced by the passage south of Reunion Island, of the depression filling Bheki. Two yellow alerts take effect at 9 a.m. this morning. Strong winds (80 km/h gusty) are expected to sweep the West (Saint-Leu, Trois-Bassins, Saint-Paul, Le Port and La Possession) and a swell of 4 meters will surge along the East and South coasts. -East (from Cap-Chevron to Champ-Borne).

This morning, the sky is overcast and rainy south of a line going from Saint-Leu to Sainte-Rose via the Cilaos cirque. It is brighter towards Saint-Denis, Le Port, Saint-Paul, Saint-André and Saint-Benoît despite the cloudy periods.
“In the northern half, the weather remains mild, but hot and muggy. A few showers are still possible in the afternoon in the upper areas”writes Météo-France La Réunion.
The South-Southeast Flow is strong. Gusts (80 to 90 km/h) affect the east, the highlands and move up towards the western beaches from the start of the day. This afternoon, “the wind is settling in the South-South-West”specify the meteorologists. It enters towards Le Port, La Possession and the Wild South (70 km/h).
The maximum temperatures drop towards Saint-Philippe (26 °C), Saint-Joseph, Saint-Pierre and l'Étang-Salé (28), but are even higher in Le Port (31 °C) and especially in Saint -Denis (32°C). No major upheavals expected in the cirques (25°C in Cilaos and 27°C in Salazie) and on the summits with 18°C at Maïdo and Pas de Bellecombe-Jacob.
The sea is rough along the East and South-East coasts where swells of 4 meters break. It is agitated, very agitated, even strong in all sectors throughout the day. Caution ! Stay away from seashores and heights overlooking the ocean.
