The Golden State Warriors are back in action tonight, taking on the Atlanta Hawks in what should be a thrilling battle between two teams figuring out what they’ve got around their star point guards.
The Dubs have a more defined understanding at this juncture of how to play around the best point guard in the game Stephen Curry. They’ve raced out to a 10-3 record, good enough for first place in the freakin’ Western Conference, and have multiple players contributing in stellar fashion.
Meanwhile the Atlanta Hawks are out here scuffling along with a 7-8 record, which is absolutely a losing record by the laws of math, and yet somehow good enough for the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference standings at this juncture.
Golden State Warriors vs Atlanta Hawks
When: November 20th, 2024 | 7:00 PM PT
TV: NBC Sports Bay Area
Radio: 95.7 The Game
Young, often hailed as a the logical basketball offspring of the shooting swagger of Stephen Curry, is currently an amazing combo of 22 points per game and 11.6 assists. There’s no doubt that Young, the former #5 overall pick in 2018, is becoming a veteran must-see NBA entertainer of high proportions.
Meanwhile the master of his hoop style Curry is trying to win NBA championship #5, a feat that would tie him with Magic Johnson all-time. It would also be the only one he’s ever won without his Splash Bro Klay Thompson, something I’d never thought I’d say.
But hey, the Warriors seem to be doing aiite in Thompson’s absence with a hot start the likes of which we haven’t seen since they last won an NBA title in 2022. They started 11-2 that year, and ran to a title. Whupping the Hawks tonight would be a great next step toward doing that this season.
