Barbara Sarafian gives an update on health in ‘The smartest person’ after cancer diagnosis: “I am tired sometimes, but I feel good”

In June, Barbara Sarafian was diagnosed with breast cancer. In the meantime, she is doing well, she says on Wednesday evening in ‘The smartest person in the world’.

About a month ago, Sarafian first talked about the diagnosis and how she noticed that something was wrong thanks to the changed behavior of her dog Mike. In The smartest person in the world she will be in her first episode as a candidate on Wednesday evening. Presenter Erik Van Looy wanted to ask an important question before he started the quiz: “How are you doing? You know why I ask that, right.”

“Yes, thank you,” Sarafian says. “Very good. I’m doing well. I get tired sometimes. Sometimes I can suddenly fall asleep, but if that happens, just leave me alone here. I’ll wake up and continue playing.”

After the joke she takes the floor again with a more serious tone. “I would like to take this moment to thank everyone – it is too much to do it all via social media – who has sent kind messages, who have expressed support for me and also to all my sisters in a difficult situation: much strength and a lot of courage.” (eadp)
