Pierre Palmade was sentenced this Wednesday to five years in prison, including two farm. He was tried before the Melun court for aggravated involuntary injuries After serious car accident which he caused in February 2023 in Seine-et-Marne. He had tested positive for several narcotics. The accident had caused three seriously injuredincluding a pregnant woman who lost her baby after the collision.
The conviction was pronounced with a deferred committal warrant. “You will very soon be summoned by the Bordeaux prosecutor (where he now resides, editor’s note) who will determine the date and the penitentiary establishment in which you will serve two years of detention”explained the president of the court to Pierre Palmade.
The judgment complies with the prosecution's requisitions. “It is indeed the misconduct of Mr. Pierre Palmade which is the direct cause of all the damage suffered by the victims“, underlined the prosecutor. The victims still suffer today serious physical and psychological after-effects.
“A crazy drug addict”
During the hearing, Pierre Palmade appeared very marked and said to himself “overwhelmed” for the victims. He spoke directly to them for their “ask for forgiveness from the depths of your being”. “I understand their anger. A crazy drug addict crashed into them, it's inexcusable“, conceded the comedian, who became a showbiz pariah with this affair which revealed to the general public the dark side and decline of an artist stuck for years in his drug addictionto the point of no longer being able to work.
