the first arctic pulse brought very light rainfall at dawn in the Belluno area – Giornale Est

This is the effect of the passage of the first Arctic pulse over the Venetian dolomite arc. The front reached the North-East at dawn this morning with very light rainfall as shown on the ARPAV map, confined exclusively to the Belluno area.

A weak dusting whitened the altitudes above 1,500 metres, 2/3 centimeters below 2,000 metres, 10 centimeters at higher altitudes. The photo accompanying the article portrays the Ampezzo valley, you can see how the snow has reached the town of Col Drusciè (Tofana) at 1,770 metres, whitening it.

A few more centimeters of white blanket is expected between Thursday and Friday with the second arctic pulse, accompanied by a sharp drop in temperatures and consequently a level of snow at hill level. But even on this occasion the greatest rainfall will fall on the western Alpine arc and will only marginally affect the eastern part of the Alps.

The sharp drop in temperatures will allow the artificial snow systems to complete artificial snow on the slopes in the Venetian tourist resorts close to the start of the ski season.
