Comedian Pierre Palmade is on trial this Wednesday, November 20, for the serious road accident he caused in February 2023 in Seine-et-Marne, under the influence of narcotics. He now lives in Bordeaux, alone and in debt, but dreams of theater.
Pierre Palmade has not left Bordeaux for months. The comedian is summoned this Wednesday, November 20 to the Melun judicial court, where he must be tried for having seriously injured three people on a road in Seine-et-Marne, while he was driving under the influence of drugs.
After the accident, on February 10, 2023, the comedian was first placed in pre-trial detention, then hospitalized after a stroke. He was released on March 7, 2023 due to his state of health.
“Pierre is now sober even if it is fragile, he went to the psychologist almost every day, he has regained his health regarding his addictions,” assures one of the rare friends who exchanges again with the actor.
“Pierre, however, gained a lot of weight because of his drug treatment,” adds the same source.
“He minimizes a lot”
Very alone, Pierre Palmade has spent the last few months writing. “He is convinced that he can come back,” says a resigned relative. “Pierre still does not understand the extent of what happened,” continues this former friend who doubts his sincerity when he expresses regret. “He downplays the events a lot and thinks he will be able to do his job again in the near future.”
“He finds it difficult to admit that his return is impossible so he writes, he writes, he writes,” he adds.
According to our information, Pierre Palmade has written plays. “He sends them to a lot of people.” Often people respond politely, “because many people are sad for him.” He would also consider offering texts, sketches and pieces “under a pseudonym”.
Pierre Palmade, addictions to drama
Behind these project ideas, sources mention numerous financial problems, even if Pierre Palmade managed to part with his house in Cély-en-Bière, nestled a stone's throw from the Fontainebleau forest. He acquired this farmhouse in 2017, to get away from Parisian nightlife. But the six-bedroom, 420 square meter residence had become a party place for the actor.
The house – raided in February 2023 – has since been sold for “more than a million euros”.
Pierre Palmade “had been living beyond his means for years, thanks to financial advances on his artistic projects”, we hear in Parisian artistic circles. He received advances for projects that ultimately will not see the light of day, “advances that he will probably never repay,” speculates a producer.
“Forgiveness obsesses him”
As his court date approaches, Pierre Palmade “is scared by the trial”, a friend tells us. “He intends to go there, because he has the hope of being forgiven.”
“He intends to act of repentance,” he continues. “Forgiveness obsesses him. Forgiveness of victims and forgiveness of the artistic community.”
Because “Pierre understood that he had lost many friends after this accident, friends who had nevertheless forgiven him for everything for years”.
Muriel Robin, her friend for over 30 years, did not hide her disappointment shortly after the accident, feeling betrayed. “I'm not her friend anymore“, she declared in September 2023 at the microphone of RTL.
“For 25 years, he was overprotected by his professional and friendly entourage. We cleaned up everything after him! Obviously, he was in this intellectual mechanism, because he knew that when he closed the door, we would come back behind. We yelled, we threatened “Every time, he apologized and nothing changed. It was the accident that changed everything,” explains a former friend.
On his past psychology, a former close friend assures us that “he loved being pitied”. “What do you do at 55 when you are ruined, probably condemned, burned in Paris?” asks a source. “Obviously, Pierre is not doing well.” Tried for involuntary injuries, aggravated by drug use, he faces a sentence of 14 years in prison.
