In February 2023, while drugged and driving his Peugeot 3008 on a departmental road in Seine-et-Marne, the 54-year-old artist collided head-on with a Renault Mégane and seriously injured three members of the same family, including a child. and a woman who subsequently lost her baby. Called to the stand at the opening of the hearing before the criminal court, he revealed his identity in a small voice.
Debated in court. The investigating judge sent the artist back for “unintentional injuries, aggravated by drug use”without however retaining the qualification of “involuntary homicide” required by the prosecution for the loss of the fetus. “This choice of the investigating magistrate is, in my opinion, highly contested and questionable, it must therefore be discussed”declared the lawyer for the three victims of the accident, Mourad Battikh, at the start of the hearing.
Up to 14 years in prison incurred. Pierre Palmade is a repeat offender due to a conviction in 2019 for drug use. He faces a sentence of 14 years in prison and a fine of 200,000 euros.
