Every year during winter, it's impossible not to see the film Tanned people go skiing be scheduled on television. The comedy, released in 1979, has become legendary. Its characters, played by the members of the Splendid troupeincluding Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte, Christian Clavier, Marie-Anne Chazel and Josiane Balasko, have become legendary. And if there is one that no one will forget, it is that of Jean-Claude Dusse (with a D like Dusse), played by the formidable Michel Blanc.
But this year, the broadcast will not think the same way. On October 3, Michel Blanc lost his life at the age of 72, victim of anaphylactic shock. A disappearance that no one expected, even less the members of Splendid who, although they no longer saw each other as much as before according to their own confessions, nevertheless planned joint projects.
Gérard Jugnot was a guest on the show Censorship from the Télé Pro channel. It's impossible not to return to the disappearance of Michel Blanc, which completely upset him. The actor also appeared with red eyes during the tribute paid to Michel Blanc during the closing evening of the 6th edition of the Cinéroman festival in Nice. But the whole team is not the only one to suffer from this absence. Since the departure of Michel Blanc, the entire Splendid troupe has learned to walk with one less member. And obviously, seeing one of them disappear is not not without consequences from a personal point of view, certainly, but also professionally.
The disappearance of Michel changes the situation
As he said so well, the Splendid troupe has just released a book, The Splendid by the Splendid, we had so much funpublished by Editions du Cherche-Midi on November 21. “It's the last thing we did together“, indicating in passing, ironically, that the proceeds were donated for the benefit of medical research: “We had just finished it, and this bastard left us in the lurch.”
What we didn't know then was that this wasn't the Splendid's only reunion project. A film was in fact in talks to bring the troupe together. But continuing the adventure without the one with whom it all began no longer really has the same flavor and that can be understood: “Yes yesconfirms Gérard Jugnot to David Barbet. There was someone who proposed something, it was rejected a little. We don't yet know if this will happen. And it's true that Michel's disappearance changes things a little.“According to Gérard Jugnot, Michel Blanc was not up for taking part in the adventure. So if the filming were ultimately to take place, but.”not right away“according to Gérard Jugnot, there is no doubt that Michel Blanc would monitor this very closely from where he is, where it will forever remain splendid.
