Lionel Messi attacked a Peruvian defender during Argentina’s victory against Peru this Tuesday evening, during a South American qualifying match for the next World Cup. Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal of the match on an assist from Lionel Messi.
Shortly after the half-hour mark, the Inter Miami player appeared annoyed after the intervention of defender Carlos Zambrano. After carrying out a check then a left strike at the entrance to the opponent’s penalty area, the Argentine striker received a charge from his opponent who even delivered an involuntary blow to his face.
According to images from an isolated camera pointed at him by the Argentinian channel TyC Sports, the Inter Miami player addressed the defender with a dark look before saying the phrase: “Que haces bobo? » (“What are you doing, stupid?”).
