The Dallas Mavericks (7-7) host the New Orleans Pelicans (4-10) on Tuesday night at home in the American Airlines Center. The Mavericks are on a bit of an upward swing due to some schedule luck, while the Pelicans are in a brutal place due to their injuries. Here’s the main things to know:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs New Orleans Pelicans
- WHAT: Hopefully beating up on a bad Pelicans team
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
- WHEN: 7:30 p.m. CST
- HOW: Channel 29, MavsTV, and also Playback with Kirk, Matthew, and David
As of this writing, it’s difficult to predict if Luka Doncic will play; he’s currently listed as questionable with a knee injury. He’s been seen in practice shooting, which is a good sign, but really it’s worth questioning if it’s wise to play Doncic at all given that it’s a knee injury of some sort and the Pelicans injury report is LONG.
The Pelicans have so many guys out. Jose Alvarado has a hamstring strain. Jordan Hawkins has a back strain. Herb Jones has a shoulder strain. CJ McCollum has a hip abductor injury. DeJounte Murray has that hand fracture. Zion Williamson has a hamstring strain. That’s a lot of guys out!
A win here would mean an official win streak at three straight. Perhaps not the proudest of win streaks but we’ll take what we can get. Head back out the main site to see if you’ve missed anything. We’re a bit light on recent Mavericks content, but the Wings getting the number one pick in that lottery is awesome!
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTubewe should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
