Mor Ilderton is no longer vying for the top spot on The Voice.
On Monday, Nov. 18, Gwen Stefani declared that Ilderton “had to go home” and would not advance to the Knockoutsleaving only Jan Dan and Sydney Sterlace to fight in the round.
Stefani, who could not explain why Ilderton was eliminated, chose Sterlace as the winner and saved Jan Dan. Both are now headed to the playoffs.
Ilderton, 20, has yet to address the news. However, he has recently been pushing his new tune “Stranger” on social media. The single is out on Friday, November 22.
Ilderton’s departure comes after Tanner Frick‘s withdrawal on November 11. At the time, host Carson Daly informed Michael Bublé that his participant had quit the competition and would not play in the Knockouts.
“Michael and Tanner [Frick] exited the competition following rehearsals. “You still have Cameron [Wright] and Sloane [Simon],” Daly, 51, stated.
“I just got this feeling like, I know what to do with that guy,” Stefani, 55, said of Ilderton after hitting the steal button. “My favourite thing about Mor’s voice is that it has a distinct, raspy undone quality. When you listen to music, his voice reflects what’s going on in the world right now.”
During his blind auditionIlderton performed Dylan Gossett’s “Coal” and received chair turns from Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Reba McEntire.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBCwith episodes available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
