It's rehearsal time for La Tite Compagnie. The Chambraisian theater company rises Jules' Worldsa family show written and directed by its artistic director, Stéphane Titeca.
Jules is Jules Verne, and the show takes the viewer into the worlds of nine novels. “It’s an opportunity to travel into the world of Jules Verne, explains the director. We are working on nine novels, five will be used at each session.” The starting point is 1851, the moment when young Jules must make the choice “between reason and passion. Dbecome a lawyer as his father wishes or become a playwright”, continues Stéphane Titeca.
The originality of the show is based on the role of the audience and chance. A beautiful machine, like a lottery draw, occupies the center of the stage, a spectator launches the mechanism and a novel title is chosen. Around the World in 80 Days, From the Earth to the Moon, Captain Grant's Children, Michel Stroggoff… Nine possibilities, five will be chosen. “We can see it three times without seeing the same show, we don’t know what will happen,” explains the artistic director. For the three actors who play all the characters and for the technicians, the system requires remarkable responsiveness…
After its creation in Chambray, the show will be presented in the department and beyond. The schedule is currently being developed.
