Mor Ilderton’s journey on The Voice has come to an end – but not because he was eliminated by coach Gwen Stefani.
Did Mor Ilderton Leave ‘The Voice’ Season 26?
During the November 18, 2024, episode of The Voice, Gwen Stefani revealed that one of her remaining contestants had left the show before knockout rounds. Mor was supposed to compete against Sydney Sterlace and Jan Dan in the three-way knockout, but Gwen told mega mentor Sting that he “had to go home.” She did not offer any further explanation about his departure.
Mor appears to be pursuing his own music career away from the show. At the same time as the episode was airing, he shared a video on Instagram of himself mouthing along to his new song called “Stranger,” which is set to be released on November 22, 2024.
In addition to his music, Mor is also a college biology major working toward a career in medicine, which he’s tried to balance with his “ultimate dream of pursuing music full-time,” according to his NBC bio.
A rep for The Voice told Entertainment Weekly that no additional information about Mor’s exit was available.
Mor Ilderton’s Journey on ‘The Voice’
Mor’s journey on The Voice began when he sang “Coal” for his blind audition. He earned chair turns from Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bubléwho also blocked Reba from being able to nab Mor for her team. The West Virginia native chose Michael as his coach.
However, during the battle rounds, Mor went up against Kiara Vega and Michael chose to keep her on his team instead. Luckily, Gwen jumped in for the steal and added Mor to her own roster. Their coach/mentee relationship didn’t go far, though, since Mor’s exit came before the next round of competition.
In the two-way knockout between Sydney and Jan, Gwen picked Sydney as the winner, but saved Jan, so they both remained on her team. Gwen’s remaining team members are: Sydney, Jan, Gabrielle Zabosky, Jose Luis and Jake Tankersley.
What Contestant Left ‘The Voice’ Season 26?
In addition to Mor, Tanner Frick also left The Voice during season 26. During the November 11, 2024, episode, host Carson Daly revealed that the Team Michael contestant had left the show.
“Michael, Tanner left the competition after rehearsals,” Carson revealed during the knockout round, where Tanner was supposed to sing against Sloane Simon and Cameron Wright. “You still have Cameron and Sloane.”
While no explanation was provided for Tanner’s departure, he shared a cryptic post on TikTok after the episode aired. Along with a video of himself singing in the studio, Tanner wrote, “Ain’t nobody want me anyway.” However, he has not directly commented on the reason for his exit.
Like Mor, Tanner appears to be pursuing a music career of his own. On November 3, 2024, he wrote on Instagram, “New music on the way!!! Lonesome Road by Tanner Frick.” At the time, he also urged fans to tune into the next episode of The Voicewhich was pretaped like the episode that featured his departure.
