New details have emerged about Lady Louise Windsor’s romance with one of her classmates at university amid reports the royal could relocate to Australia.
Louise is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the youngest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
The 21-year-old royal is currently studying a four-year English degree at the prestigious St Andrews University in Scotland, where she is reportedly dating fellow student Felix Da Silva-Clamp.
It is understood she met Felix when they were cast to star alongside each other in a student play about two years ago.
Louise’s boyfriend is the son of British solicitor Jonathan Charles William da Silva-Clamp and Australian Kendall Clamp.
Felix was born in 2004 and raised in Melbourne before moving to the United Kingdom for university.
Louise’s boyfriend has already met her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and recently joined Prince Edward and Sophie at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials to watch Lady Louise compete.
According to a palace source who spoke to the Daily Express newspaper, Louise is currently considering a study year abroad at Macquarie University in Sydney to get to know Felix’s Aussie relatives.
“The next academic year is going to be an important one for Louise,” the source said in August.
“She’s exactly halfway through her degree course and this is the point where students decide whether they want to study abroad or remain in Scotland.”
A close friend of Louise recently told The Times newspaper that the royal is “surprisingly normal” despite her gilded upbringing at her family’s sprawling Bagshot Park mansion in Surrey.
Prior to commencing her studies at St Andrews, Louise is understood to have spent a summer working at a local gardening centre in Surrey potting plants and working behind the till.
According to the same pal, low-key Louise currently works a student job in the canteen during the week and participates in many student theatre productions.
“She was in the chorus for a play called Dragon Fever, she was really good,” the friend said.
Louise’s St Andrews romance comes more than two decades after her cousin Prince William and Princess Catherine began their relationship while studying at the same university.
The future King and Kate Middleton met in 2001 when William completed his geography degree at the university, while the future Princess of Wales studied art history.
