After his eldest, David, spoke at the bar, Florian Pelicot in turn spoke before the Vaucluse criminal court on Monday, November 18. As part of the Mazan rape trial, his father, Dominique, appeared as the main accused.
David Pelicot's lectures against his father this Monday, November 18 as part of the Mazan rape trial were followed by another strong moment. In the process, Dominique Pelicot's second son, Florian, addressed him before the Vaucluse criminal court.
Present in the box, the septuagenarian is accused with 50 other men of having raped and orchestrated the rapes of his wife, Gisèle Pelicot.
“Is this the idea you have of love, is this the idea you wanted to instill in us? There will be a before, a during and certainly an after this trial. It's been 4 years since I lost my father,” said the youngest of the couple, aged 38.
Florian Pelicot also returned to an evening spent at the family home, during which he saw his mother completely “drop out” after the aperitif. He remembers how his father went to put her to bed. “The puzzle is falling into place… If I had forgotten something that evening, what would I have stumbled upon?” he asked, very moved.
“A divorce and a thousand questions”
His sister, Caroline Darian, was interviewed in September. Photos of her, asleep, in lingerie, were found in her father's files. She believes she was also drugged, which Dominique Pelicot denied again this Monday in Avignon.
“Tell the truth to Caroline. Today, we are all in survival. She is no longer alive. I picked her up. Today she could die at any moment,” Florian told her during the hearing. .
“How do we build ourselves as a son when we ourselves are a father, what are the instructions?” he asked again.
He believes that this affair “cost him a divorce and a thousand questions”. The two ex-wives of David and Florian Pelicot were heard as part of the trial, photos of them having also been found in the affairs of Dominique Pelicot.
A father described as the “devil”
Florian also doubts his parentage with him, and would like to do a paternity test to remove “a big doubt”. His mother had an extramarital affair around the same time as his birth.
“It would be a relief not to be the son of Dominique Pelicot,” he explained, not hesitating to compare him to the “devil” as opposed to Gisèle Pelicot whom he describes as a “saint”.
However, Florian Pelicot remains attached to his family. “Our children must be proud to bear this name Pelicot. Often in criminal stories, we remember the name of the bad guy, but here, it is Gisèle Pelicot that we remember,” he maintained. In addition to accusing his father, the man also called on the 50 co-accused to take responsibility in court.
