Following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Sierra Leone on October 15, the Ivorian national team, known as the Elephants, suffered another setback against Zambia, losing 1-0 on Friday, November 15, 2024.
In light of these consecutive defeats, Idriss Diallo, the president of the Ivorian Football Federation, has emphatically stated that a thorough and honest assessment will take place.
“We will conduct an unflinching review internally with the players, technical staff, and administration to address the shortcomings and inefficiencies, while also optimally preparing for upcoming challenges, including the 2026 World Cup qualifiers,” he declared on his official Facebook page.
In addition, Diallo has called for a united front among Ivoirians, highlighting the importance of collective support for significant victories.
“I urge you all to come out and support our Elephants, who owe it to you to perform up to their esteemed status. We will have the opportunity to celebrate this qualification together, allowing us to defend our title in a year,” he implored.
