L’Toulouse- airport received “an unusual visit”. Friday November 15, 2024, a giant of the air covered in red hit the Blagnac track and stopped off in the Pink City for a day.

A stopover… head for the stars!

Enough to offer a beautiful and long opportunity to aviation lovers to immortalize a machine that is extraordinary to say the least. As much by its volumes as by its history or even… its passengers.

Because the plane of the compagnie National Airlines did not come to pick up travelers, but a satellite. “On a mission to the stars!” », rejoices Toulouse-Blagnac airport on its social networks.

A (historically) extraordinary aircraft

And the French satellite offered itself a high-ranking convoy: a Boeing 747-400the same model as Air Force One which transports the President of the United States. This one, however, was a little more special.

“Formerly used as water bomber, it was transformed into a cargo plane, hence its distinctive red color,” explains Toulouse airport, contrasting with the usual blue of the American company’s planes.

“The most majestic!” »: Toulouse residents amazed

A guest who definitely does not go unnoticed, therefore, and amazes more than one. It even makes them nostalgic… “I have often transported satellites with a 747 Cargo in Air colors, but that was in the past…”, comments a user on the airport's Facebook page. While others exclaim more simply: “You remain forever the most majestic!” », “the most beautiful cargo ship! “, ” Magnificent ! “, ” splendid “…

In short, a real ovation for the American colossus. But that doesn't take away the little Toulouse chauvinism. “Beautiful bird… but shh!” I still prefer our Beluga,” laughs another Internet user. Proud of its local aircraft manufacturer.
