UA key week opens with the Mazan rape trial. This Monday, November 18, the Avignon criminal court must hear four final defendants on the merits. These interrogations, which are accompanied by the broadcast of videos, should occupy a good part of the day.

The court will then hear from the sons of Dominique and Gisèle Pelicot. The two brothers who came expressly from the Paris region were supposed to speak at the start of the trial, but their father's health problems disrupted the agenda.
The floor will then be given one last time to Caroline Darian, the daughter of the Pelicot couple, who wrote a book on chemical submission. Gisèle Pelicot will also have the opportunity to speak one last time. It is not certain that she will grasp it, since she has already taken the stand several times during the trial, notably a week ago, where she was able to draw a first assessment of the debates since the 2 september. So far, the victim has attended almost every day of the trial.
The interventions of the Pelicot family will be followed, during the week, by the highly anticipated and potentially historic pleadings of their lawyers, Mr.e Stéphane Babonneau and Me Antoine Camus. It will then be up to the attorney general, who represents the company, to deliver long requisitions for each of the fifty-one accused. Given their number, the public prosecutor could ask for a full day to take stock, and two full days to unfold them.
The 50 accused return to the Mazan rape trial
This week also marks the return, in the courtroom, of the entire accused. We must therefore, from this Monday, squeeze onto the benches to welcome back around thirty lawyers as well as the fifty co-defendants. Thirty places have been reserved for the press. These places being very expensive for the 165 accredited media, the Judicial Press Association proposed an unprecedented organization.

Kangaroo of the day
Answer
Five places were reserved for local journalists, five for foreign media, and twenty others for national media, with priority given to those who have followed the hearing since the first day. Journalists therefore risk moving to the broadcast room, where there will be fewer places available to the public.
After the requisitions of the attorney general, a new phase will open with the pleadings of the defense lawyers. It will last several weeks due, again, to the profusion of accused. The court composed of professional magistrates will then take a few days to deliberate on the fate of the fifty-one accused. The verdict is still scheduled for December 20.
