  • Winds 30-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

  • Could blow down tree branches and power lines

  • Travel could be difficult

For today, a cold front is swinging through the forecast area, bringing with it gusty conditions, rain, and mountain snow. Yesterday`s system provided us with a shot of warm air that lifted snow levels above our major mountain passes, but as the cold front moves through, colder, northerly air will rush in behind and drop snow levels down to around 2000 feet. Light snow will persist into the day Monday, but only expecting a couple of inches at best to fall at pass level

Looking to Tuesday, a potentially significant low-pressure system is building off the coast of the Pacific Northwest. The low will bring a warm front through the forecast area by Tuesday night. We will see widespread rain arriving in the evening and sticking around through the rest of the work week.

The foothills of the cascades could see some heavy snow of six inches or more above 2,500 feet with several inches in Cle Elum as well.

Wednesday will start with a deep and stacked low just offshore. Strong winds will occur in Central Oregon up through the foothills of the blues. Winds will be breezy through much of the day but calming slightly by midafternoon. This should also help raise snow levels by Thursday morning to over 4,000 feet.
