Soggy Sunday turns cooler for the first half of the week

ALTOONA, PA. (WTAJ) – Although our weekend is ending, some may want to think about the rainfall we experienced for our Sunday.

It was much needed and complimentary to provide a brief break in the fire weather concerns. The new week ahead will feature all the forms of weather that can be expected within Central/Western PA, aside from snow.

The bulk of the rainfall will gradually end as we head into the early hours of Saturday. By the time we set out the door for work/school, we can expect clouds overhead with a few bright spots. Temperatures will sit in the mid/upper 40s.

Another variable that needs to be accounted for is the wind. It will be another breezy day for the region, as the wind will blow from the west around 10-15 mph with gusts of 30 possible.

As we continue on through the afternoon, skies will try to clear and break apart.

Futuretrack shows the clouds trying to clear out from the morning to the afternoon. A brief wave of energy could provide a stray shower north of I-80, but I expect the bulk of the region to remain dry.

The overall weather for our Veterans Day Monday will feature clouds and sun with temperatures hovering in the upper 50s to low 60s.
