According to the organizers of the meeting, some 1,500 young athletes in 12 disciplines responded to the call. “It’s an impressive mobilization and when we say that Rufisque is a sports town, it’s the truth. We share them with the whole world and also with our youth,” he explained.
Vice-president of Cnoss, Mr. Wade also indicated that this activity, like others, is part of the commitment and mobilization of youth in view of this important meeting. , the very first event held on African soil.
In the dynamics of holding these games, Rufisque could benefit from new sports facilities, according to the coordinator of Dakar 2026. “We hope to continue this partnership. Above all, we hope to support local authorities in a certain number of initiatives that we have discussed together, such as local infrastructure. We did it in Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly, but we need to expand. We have made the commitment to continue together with the State and the ministry,” he maintained.
Addressing the city’s mayor, he added: “The more infrastructure there is in the country, the more sport there is, the more we have well-trained youth. And it is in this direction that we must work in view of 2026 and we are already there.”
Enough to rejoice the mayor Oumar Cissé who requested the support of Cnoss and the State to make Ngalandou Diouf a stadium with the dimension of sport in Rufisque. “It’s a 9-hectare stadium and you can do everything there.
