The results of the “Enlivrez-vous” readers’ prize, from the library network of the Mont-Saint-Michel – agglomeration community, will be announced on Saturday November 23, 2024 at 4 p.m. at the Le Pressoir library, in Ducey-Les Chéris ( Sleeve).

Three books to select from ten novels

From May 13 to November 13, members who wished to do so read three books (minimum) from a selection of ten novels and voted for their favorite, in one of the 19 media libraries in the region.

Mokhtar Amoudi’s ideal conditions; Eden by Audur Ava Olafsdottir; Lightning by Pierric Bailly; The silences of the fathers by Rachid Benzine; What I Know About You by Eric Chacour; Remains of Adeline Dieudonné; The women of bidibidi by Charline Effah; Admirable: the story of the last wrinkled woman on earth by Sophie Fontanel; The Cape Town Doctor by Ellen J. Levy; Unforgettable sequel by Akira Mizubayashi.

Six librarians from the public reading network have been working on the project since June 2023 and exchanged their readings to arrive at a selection of ten novels.

The selection criteria were: a variety of publishers, novels published in large print and/or read books are preferred, a balance between French and foreign novels, discovery of first-time novelists, discovery of a writing style or of an original subject or one little treated in literature”, comments the public reading service of the Mont Saint-Michel – Normandy agglomeration.

The author Caroline Hinault will be present

The results will be announced in the presence of author Caroline Hinault, who will participate in the fourth edition in 2025.

Who is Caroline Hinault?

Born in 1981 in Saint-Brieuc, Caroline Hinault is a graduate of Modern Literature. She teaches literature in where she lives today. His first novel, Solak, appeared in the Rouergue noir collection, in 2021. Hailed by critics, he received eight literary prizes including the 2021 Michel Lebrun prize, the 2022 Trophée 813 du roman francophone and the Marie-Claire-Blais prize 2023. In 2022 a story appeared in the La Brune collection: In carna, fragments of pregnancy. His second novel, Crossing the Forests, was published in March 2024.

During this afternoon, the book having received the most votes will be revealed to the public and prizes (novel for the 2024 literary season to be chosen at the Avranches bookseller, From one book to another, will be awarded by drawing The public is invited to come in large numbers.
