Discover the reactions of Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia, at the end of the Barcelona Grand Prix which saw the Spaniard be crowned ten points ahead of the Italian.
Jorge Martin (Ducati Pramac, world champion):
“It’s extraordinary, I don’t know what to say. I thank my family, my friends, everyone who supported me, it's for them! I also think of all the victims of Valence. (…) I started to cry in the last laps, I could no longer drive correctly. It was very long, there was a lot of pressure. I will continue to improve, to work. But here, I'm going to let the pressure go down. (…) I'm in shock, there are too many emotions at the moment. I thank my competitors, they pushed me to my limits. Peco (Bagnaia) was an extraordinary competitor, it was always very close. In this last race, I gave the best I could. I suffered a lot during my career, it was a long journey, I had injuries, but it made me stronger. I worked a lot physically and mentally. I felt really prepared for this challenge. No. 1? I won't have it during the tests, I'll keep my 89. It's important to have the two stars on my number (he was Moto3 world champion in 2018, editor's note). “
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo, vice-champion du world) :
“Jorge totally deserves his title, he had a magnificent season. With more second places than victories, he won the title. It's his day. I would like to thank my team, who did a great job. (. ..) It was a perfect weekend for me (pole, victory in the sprint and in the GP, editor's note), but it was not enough. We finished the season ten points behind. I gave everything, but I had some moments of bad luck this season. I will try again next year, there were things that we didn't understand, but in the last races. we were the strongest.”
