Vote of President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhare Faye, marked by simplicity and solemnity

The President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhare Faye, took part in the early legislative elections of November 17, 2024. It was around 10 a.m. that he arrived at the Ndiandiaye polling station in Ndiaganiao, in the constituency number 2. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by the members of the office, and greeted them before proceeding to the next step.

Before him, his wife had already fulfilled her civic duty, and it was in a calm and orderly atmosphere that the president began the electoral procedure. After presenting his ID for verification, he was allowed to collect his ballots.

Under the eyes of observers, the president took his place in the voting booth, where he slipped his choice into an envelope, which he then placed in the ballot box. A strong symbolic gesture which recalls the democratic commitment of the Head of State in this crucial moment in the political life of the country.
This moment of democracy took place in absolute calm, demonstrating once again the respect for the electoral procedure by the highest authorities of the country.
