Department by department, an update on the demonstration locations and the actions planned for Monday by farmers in Occitanie.
Monday November 18, 2024 risks marking the start of a new large-scale movement of farmers in France, opposed to the Mercosur treaty which will be negotiated at the same time during the G20 summit. At the call of the FNSEA and Young Farmers unions, actions have been announced throughout France.
Unlike the movement at the start of 2024, the desire was expressed not to target motorways. But “distress lights” for some or “fires of anger” for others will be lit as a protest in many departments, particularly near busy roads or on roundabouts.

In Aveyron
Where “hazard lights” will be lit:
- North Aveyron: at the Lacalm fairground from 7 p.m.
- Lot Valley: near the Super U roundabout in Espalion between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
- Aveyron Valley: at the Bozouls municipal grounds near Agronomy Services from 9 p.m.
- Lévézou: in Viarouge from 8 p.m.
- Ségala: near the La Mothe roundabout from 7 p.m.
- Villefranche-de-Rouergue Nord: near the Bel-Air roundabout from 7 p.m.
- Villefranche-de-Rouergue Sud: on the road to Rulhe Durantel Marmiesse from 7 p.m.
- Vallon: at the winemaker Jean-Pierre Cabantous, between Clairvaux and Valady, from 8:30 p.m.
- Millau: near the Berger roundabout from 7 p.m.
- Saint-Affrique: in the Saint-Pierre-de-Rebourgil activity zone from 7 p.m.
In Lozère
If no rally has been announced for the moment, farmers in Lozère took action this weekend to change the names of the signs to Brazilian or Argentinian cities, in order to underline their total disagreement with the negotiations of the Mercosur treaty.
In the Lot
The FDSEA and the JA du Lot formed a convoy of tractors from 10 a.m. to go to the prefecture of Cahors, and the sub-prefectures of Figeac and Gourdon.
In the Tarn
The agricultural unions are announcing a rally in Albi from 12 p.m. on the deserted road between the Gaillarguès and Arquipeyre roundabouts. They promise “further actions” during the afternoon.
In Tarn-et-Garonne
Where “fires of anger” will be kindled:
- Montauban: at the Jardiland roundabout at 7:30 p.m. (avenue de l’Europe)
In the Gard
Filtering operations will be carried out by the FDSEA and the Young Farmers at the Saint-Cézaire roundabout, in front of the McDonald's, in Nîmes. Tractors will be present, the unions have called on farmers to bring a bin of tires and a bin of stumps.
In Hérault
A mobilization is expected in Montpellier, the farmers will be at 11 a.m. in front of the prefecture. They will then head towards the Place de la Comédie and the Esplanade de l'Europe.
In Aude
The FDSEA, the Young Farmers and the winegrowers' union intend to light fires “on several roundabouts” Monday evening, according to our colleagues from La Dépêche du Midi. The locations have not yet been communicated. Wednesday, November 20, the actions will continue in the city of Carcassonne at 6 p.m. then in front of the prefecture.
In Haute-Garonne
The FDSEA and the Young Farmers promise to light numerous “visible” fires, but “far from homes”, the unions told La Dépêche du Midi. If no action is announced in Toulouse, others could be carried out in Muretain on several roundabouts from 6:45 p.m.
“The countryside is burning. Mobilize from 7 p.m. in each of your cantons to raise the voice of agriculture loud and clear,” broadcasts the FDSEA.
In the Gers
A mobilization is expected in Auch at 3 p.m., in the form of a column of tractors between the lower town and the prefecture.
In the Pyrénées-Orientales
The FDSEA is not calling for demonstrations for the moment, when the Rural Coordination intends to block the border between France and Spain from Tuesday November 19
In Ariège
Several gatherings announced before blocking the Foix tunnel for the remainder of Monday evening:
- Verniolle: 7 p.m. at the Super U roundabout
- Charmille: 7:30 p.m. at the roundabout
In the Hautes-Pyrénées
From 7:45 p.m., here are where “fires of anger” will be lit:
- Lourdes roundabout (Pic du Jer),
- Ibos roundabout (highway),
- Tournay roundabout (motorway),
- Vic Maubourguet sector roundabout,
- Roundabout at the top of the Côte de la Barthe (second roundabout after the motorway),
- Rond-point de Soulom.
