Neck and neck with Tanzania (3rd, 7 points) in Group H, Guinea (2nd, 9 points) put in a great performance. Indeed, Syli National, which hosted DR Congo in Ivory Coast, won (1-0). A precious victory acquired in the final seconds of the game thanks to Dortmund striker Sehrou Guirassy.
Receiving a cross from Issiaga Sylla, Guirassy placed a superb volley which left the DR Congo goalkeeper no chance (90+3). Thanks to this victory, Guinea moves back ahead of Tanzania, who had beaten Ethiopia (2-0) at the end of the afternoon.
On Tuesday, Guinea will challenge Tanzania in Dar es Salaam for a real “final” with a view to the second ticket for the CAN. Even if the Tanzanians will have the advantage of playing at home, Guinea will still be able to count on its star striker, Sehrou Guirassy, author of six goals in the last three matches of the national Syli.
