On the occasion of Canal+'s 40th anniversary, the channel's former presenter is touring the media to promote his book Very first time. They all started on Canalpublished by Flammarion editions. The former host of Grand Journal was on the airwaves of RTL this Saturday, November 16. The opportunity for the presenter toWe're doing TV againÉric Dussart, to question him about his relationship with one of his actor friends: “You have known Gérard Depardieu for a very long time, from your youth in Châteauroux. The accusations against him have not affected your friendship?” he wanted to know.

“I think when you're friends with someone, you're friends no matter what, so in times like this it's difficult“replied Michel Denisot. “I am neither a lawyer nor a prosecutor, so I am not here to do justice”he estimated while his friend, whose trial which was to open at the end of October, was postponed to March 2025 for health reasons. According to his lawyers, the accusations of sexual assault allegedly committed on two women during filming in 2021 would have worsened the condition of the 75-year-old actor who is presumed innocent. According to his lawyer Jérémie Assous, cited by The WorldGérard Depardieu would have undergone quadruple coronary bypass surgery and suffered from diabetes amplified by the stress caused by the affair.

“There is media justice which is already violent enough, which may or may not be fair, I don't know. I'm waiting for justice to rule. But, his head is underwater, I I'm not going to press his head today.”explained on RTL Michel Denisot. “Are you still talking? Do you still have contact?”, asked Éric Dussart to Michel Denisot. “I call him from time to time, yes. Absolutely”replied the former Canal+ icon. “And you raised the subject with him?”asked the host ofWe're doing TV again. “At first [oui]then after no. I talk to him about rain and good weather”explained the 79-year-old journalist. Before concluding: “I think he has a lot fewer calls than before, that’s it, so I let him talk. That’s it, I listen to him.”
