The former YouTuber took down Iron Mike in the sanctioned boxing match by unanimous decision. While Tyson would have almost certainly dominated during his heavyweight champion days, the 58-year-old couldn’t keep up with his 27-year-old opponent.

Paul’s record improved to 11-1, while Tyson fell to 50-7.

The Problem Child won with scorecards of 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.

Tyson initially appeared to be keeping up in the first round with an aggressive start as Paul danced around the ring, looking to tire out his elder opponent. Paul landed six power punches and 12 total punches through the opening two rounds compared to four power punches and seven total punches for Tyson over that same span.

However, the momentum started to swing in Paul’s favor quickly. Tyson’s legs looked unsteady and he briefly stumbled during the third round.

Paul eventually pulled away to secure the victory with Tyson failing to land a jab over the final three rounds (via CompuBox). As for Paul, he connected on 19.4 percent of his jabs from the sixth round through the eighth.

Tyson struggled to dodge as the fight started to wind down while Paul became more aggressive in the later rounds. In the last round, he backed Tyson into the ropes with a right hand but wasn’t able to do any further damage.

Paul showed respect to his opponent with a bow in the final seconds of the fight when the result became clear before the two embraced following the conclusion of the bout.

“Let’s give it up for Mike,” Paul said after his victory. “He’s a legend. He’s the greatest to ever do it. He’s the GOAT. I look up to him. I’m inspired by him, and we wouldn’t be here today without him.”

Paul has now emerged victorious in each of his past five fights, while Tyson was able to go the distance but still suffered a tough defeat in his first professional bout since 2005.
