The defeat by unanimous decision (80-72, 79-73, 79-73) of Mike Tyson this Saturday morning provoked numerous reactions in the world of the noble art. Notably Terence Crawfird and especially Francis Ngannou, who took the opportunity to threaten Jake Paul.

Unconditional support. A colossal age gap, health problems… the step was too high for Mike Tyson. After his logical defeat by unanimous decision (80-72, 79-73, 79-73) against Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas (United States), the world of noble art necessarily had a word for this special official fight that many couldn't help but watch.

Although he respects him, Andre Ward, former unified super middleweight and light heavyweight world champion, summed up the situation perfectly on Netflix: “I hope people aren't too disappointed, but he's 58 years old, what did you expect?”

Even harder, Terence Crawford, one of the best current boxers (along with Naoya Inoue and Oleksandr Usyk), didn't pull any punches: “I love Mike Tyson, but they give him too much credit. He had looks bad, training that long and only throwing 97 punches the whole fight is crazy I'm just glad he didn't get hurt.”

Ngannou not tender with Jake Paul

He who was immersed in boxing before launching into MMA and who took a break from the rings to indulge in two superfights against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, Francis Ngannou also reacted to this fight. If the former UFC champion did not directly address Mike Tyson, he attacked his opponent for the evening. “The next time I see Jake Paul, I’m going to give him two or three slaps,” the Cameroonian proclaimed.

The character of the American influencer/boxer is not appreciated by everyone, and it is not Tony Bellew who will say the opposite. “I don’t like that stupid kid,” the former world heavyweight champion first said, before praising his behavior in the ring.

“But I will say this… He stopped hitting Mike and showed him some respect and dignity by letting him survive. He didn't go for the knockout… Mike, we all love you, king , you are a superhero to all of us, coming from the world of fighting.”
