This Sunday, November 17, 2024, the Polyclinique Montréal in Carcassonne and its urological surgeons are organizing a solidarity run and walk along the banks of the Aude to raise awareness of men's health and the prevention of prostate and testicular cancers.
This Sunday, meet on the banks of the Aude, at the Nicole Abar hall, for a solidarity run and walk, for the prevention of male cancers, particularly those of the prostate and testicles, on the occasion from Movember.
On the program for this sporty and friendly moment, two courses are offered: one of 7 km open to running and walking, accessible to all, and the other of 10 km for the most endurance runners. This initiative is also supported by institutional partners and local businesses, such as Carcassonne Town Hall, CPAM de l'Aude, Décathlon Carcassonne, ASC Athlétisme and the Carcassonne Round Table.
Registration fees are set at €5 for the 7 km course and €10 for the 10 km course. Part of the proceeds will be donated to an association for the prevention of male cancers.
The event is open to participants of all levels, with or without a mustache. Businesses, families, groups of friends and athletes are all invited to join this solidarity movement, from 8:30 a.m. to welcome participants and hand out bibs. The start of the 10 km race is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., the 7 km race at 9:45 a.m., and the 7 km walk at 10 a.m.
The registration fees, €5 for the 7 km course and €10 for the 10 km course, will be partly donated to an association for the prevention of male cancers.
Registrations can be done on site on the day by bringing a medical certificate or a PPS less than 3 months old.
