Several hundred people demonstrated this evening in Saint-Denis, near Paris, to ask France to say ”stop the genocide” in Gaza, before the France-Israel match scheduled for this evening at 8.45pm at the Stade de France: this is what a reporter from the France Presse agency reports.
The demonstration responds to the slogan “don’t play with genocide”, on the very day in which a United Nations special committee concluded that the methods of war used by Israel in the Gaza Strip “correspond to the characteristics of a genocide”.
The French president is also expected at the match considered to be at high risk due to violence and disturbances of public order, a week after the riots in Amsterdam that followed the Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv Europa League match Emmanuel Macron.
Four thousand officers deployed to avoid clashes and violence, including inside the stadium and in the streets of central Paris.
