This position represented for him “the consecration of a life of work that began at the age of 14”, confides his brother Hakim, who also participated in the restoration of Notre-Dame as an electrician. Azzedine often repeated that he would not retire until the cathedral was completely rebuilt. He was to leave her in January.

Azzedine was buried this Thursday, November 14 in his native land, in Morocco, 50 km northeast of Casablanca. His colleagues plan to meet “in the coming days” at the site's base to pay him a final tribute.
