The Royal Moroccan University of Sports for All announced the organization of the Assa City Festival of Folk Games in its first edition, on November 17 and 18, in commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the glorious Independence Day, in partnership with the Assa-Zag region’s prefectures.
Delegations representing 52 countries from different continents participate in the festival, organized in cooperation with the Regional Council of Assa-Zag and the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation.
The festival program, which will be attended by the President of the Bahraini Sports for All Federation, Issa Mohammed Abdul Rahim, and other prominent sports figures, especially from Italy and Spain, includes a symposium on the topic of “Traditional Sports and their Role in Cultural Radiation and Rapprochement between Peoples.”
The symposium will witness the participation of a group of specialists in traditional games and sports, both Moroccans and foreigners, in addition to performances and competitions in popular games, and the organization of the “Kilometer of Peace and Harmony” race with the participation of guest delegations and local residents, in addition to artistic evenings of local heritage.
For reference, traditional games and sports constitute an important part of the activities to which the Royal Moroccan University of Sports for All pays special attention within its programs, including national sports convoys, sports days, beach games, and even within prison institutions.
