They are a sign that winter is setting in. THE first snowflakes delicately rested on the top of the Mont Ventoux this Tuesday, November 12, according to a publication from the Department of Vaucluse.
For the first fall of the year, the Department has already announced up to 10 cm of snow. Nothing serious, but according to France TV info, for everyone's safety, the snow plow has already been requisitioned and the salting put in place, in order to allow the movement of local residents.
Traffic disrupted
At the end of the day yesterday, traffic was starting to be difficult for motorists. This Wednesday, the Department took precautions and announced the closure of the RD974: traffic is prohibited between Mont Serein and the summit of Ventoux.
Expect difficult driving conditions on certain roads:
- Difficult conditions on the RD974 between Chalet Reynard and the summit of Ventoux
- Difficult conditions on the RD164 between Chapelle du Venviront and Chalet Reynard
Favor the departmental road 974 between Malaucène and Mont Serein or the RD974 between Bédoin and Chalet Reynard in which the road conditions are more favorable.
The Department recalls that since November 1, it is obligatory to have chains in your trunk or snow tires on your car.
