It's a return to the stage that his fans were no longer expecting. In 2025, Dany Boon makes his big return to the stage, with a one-man show, entitled Boon will do better!. On the occasion of this big news, the comedian was the guest of Yann Barthès on the set of Quotidien, this Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
And straight away, the host of TMC asked him for explanations : “Worse than a politician: you made a promise on March 31, 2018. You say goodbye to the stage, it takes place at the Zénith in Lille. Everyone is crying. And today, you come to announce your return in 2025. What are your arguments, Mr. Boon?”
Yann Barthès does not hesitate to ask Dany Boon for explanations
In reality, it was one of his children who changed everything : “I was with my daughter who was 12 at the time, Sarah. I said 'there, I would like to do a play in two years'. And there is my daughter who goes 'but you're not doing one-man show, dad? I'd like to see you on stage and everything, doing a one-man show’”remembers the comedian.
Laurence Arné's husband also reveals the reason why he stopped going on stage several years ago: “I was shooting a lot, I was traveling a lot with the films all over the world. And I said to myself, I can't do both fronts”he explains to Yann Barthès.
The comedian's return to the stage
During these seven years, Dany Boon wanted to write for the theater, but “not one-man shows, plays of other genres“. But he knows it, his writing turns almost automatically towards humor, solo: “Each time, I write parts of a piece and it stops. In fact, it's a sketch. I didn't understand why artists, when they were in cinema, stopped doing stage work, doing one-man shows. It’s because we can’t reconcile the two, it’s complicated.”
But now Dany Boon is going to make his comeback on stage, to the delight of his daughter, but also of his fans, who never thought that their favorite comedian was going to give them this surprise. The actor was therefore forced to justify himself to Yann Barthès who wanted to obtain detailed explanations from Dany Boon.
