VIDEO. Lindsay De Vylder and Robbe Ghys enter the first night of the Six Days of Ghent as leaders

Seven more couples are in the same round. The Belgian-French tandem Van Den Bossche/Thomas totaled 36 points. The Dutch Yoeri Havik and Vincent Hoppezak have 25 points, as many as Jules Hesters and the New Zealander Aaron Gate.

The first points race of the evening immediately went to Lindsay De Vylder. The second points race was exactly what Fabio Van Den Bossche wanted. During the subsequent defection, the battle was between De Vylder and Benjamin Thomas. The former made it after a pressing sprint. The fourth song of the evening was the track lap time trial, which went to the pair Noah Vandenbranden/Gianluca Pollefliet.

Lindsay De Vylder and Robbe Ghys were allowed to start the very first team race of this 83rd Six Days of Ghent as leaders. Fabio Van Den Bossche came second in the standings with the Frenchman Benjamin Thomas. In the sprint for victory, De Vylder and Ghys proved to be the fastest and so they took 20 points.

Feyaerts/Bertel’s first leaders in Future Six Days

The Belgian couple Thor Feyaerts and Witse Bertels are in the lead of the Future Six Days on Tuesday in Ghent with 22 points after the opening evening. Another Belgian tandem, Nicolas Aernouts/Thibaut Van Damme, is ranked second (20). The Italians Davide Stella/Ares Costa totaled 12 points on the first evening.

It was Nicolas Aernouts who won the first points race. He took 68 points, just as many as Peter Bheki Laursen, but left the Dane behind in the final sprint. The German Bruno Kessler had to be satisfied with 65 points. In the second points race of the evening, victory went to Thibaut Van Damme with 47 points. The Dutchman Jan van Schaik collected 43 points, Renzo Raes pocketed 28 points.

The first evening ended with a time trial. Feyaerts/Bertels proved themselves to be the best in this regard. They finished in 28,387. The Italians Stella/Costa crossed the finish line after 28.531. The British Hobbs/Gill needed 28,626.
