In August, Bowen Yang was asked during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen about the worst behavior he’d seen from an SNL host. “This man — this person, this host — made multiple cast members cry on Wednesday before the table read because he hated the ideas,” Yang said. Speculation about the host’s identity has swirled ever since — and it seems cast member Chloe Fineman may finally have resolved the mystery.
Following Musk’s recent claim that “SNL has been slowly dying for years,” after Dana Carvey performed an impression of him in a sketch, Fineman shared in a since-deleted TikTok that Musk once made her cry. “I’m gonna come out and say, at long last, that I’m the cast member that he made cry and he’s the host that made someone cry,” Fineman said, seemingly referencing Yang’s comments.
In her TikTok, which “Page Six” posted on YouTube, Fineman said she hadn’t originally planned to say anything about it publicly, but then she explained, “If you’re gonna go on your platform and be rude, guess what? You made I, Chloe Fineman, burst into tears because I stayed up all night writing the sketch. I was so excited, I came in, I asked if you had any questions, and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla.” She went on to describe Musk’s “pawing” through the script and saying it wasn’t funny and didn’t make him laugh once.
In response to a reporter who shared Fineman’s TikTok on X, Musk tweeted, “Frankly, it was only on the Thursday before the Saturday that ANY of the sketches generated laughs. I was worried.” Though he didn’t confirm or deny having made Fineman cry, he did provide further confirmation that he’s a cruel and unserious person. So glad this guy will likely have a massive hand in running the federal government.
