CH Media is pulling the plug on all Today portals
The regional platforms did not reach sales targets: 34 people lost their jobs and the CH Media Group’s Today portals were discontinued with immediate effect.

CH Media announced that the Today portals had increased reach, but had not achieved the necessary sales in the highly competitive online market. CEO Michael Wanner is quoted as saying that sales are declining and there is no way to operate the portals in a cost-covering manner in the foreseeable future.
Because of the discontinuation of the six regional news platforms, 34 terminations were announced in the Today editorial team and in marketing, it said. Following consultation with the Human Resources Commission, 22 employees could be offered follow-up solutions at CH Media. The consultation process has been completed. The first portal went online in 2015.
