According to Météo-France forecasts, temperatures could drop as much as 3°C this Tuesday, November 12, before dropping throughout the week due to a cold drop arriving from the east.
Winter is here. Affected by a cold drop from Germany, the thermometer will drop this Tuesday, November 12 over a large part of the country, before showing values close to 0°C at the end of the week. This Tuesday, it is the south of France which will be most affected by this drop in temperatures, warns La Chaîne Météo.
“Thus, maximum temperatures will lose 4 to 8°C on average in the southern half, but only 2°C in the northeast,” explains the specialized site, which warns that the feeling “will even become cold in the afternoon “.
In the morning, Météo-France forecasts temperatures between 5 and 14°C over almost the entire country, with 5°C forecast in Belfort and Gap, 6°C in Strasbourg and Aurillac or even 7°C in Limoges.
Snow in the Alps and the Pyrenees
Minimum temperatures could drop to 3°C in places, the agency warns in its bulletin, but will be between 8 and 12°C on the Mediterranean side.
The maximums “capped between 7 and 11 degrees” in the northern half, even if the thermometer could display between 13 and 17°C on the Mediterranean coast, and even up to 20 degrees in Corsica.
In detail, 11°C is forecast in Paris in the afternoon, 10°C in Lille, 9°C in Lyon and Tarbes, 12°C in Rennes and even 13°C in Marseille and Perpignan.
Sign of the concrete arrival of winter: on the Alpine terrain, “snowfall occurs from 1,200 meters above sea level, whitening the ground from 1,300 meters”, announces Météo-France.
You will have to climb a little higher in the Pyrenees to see the ground covered in white. “There too the sky is very cloudy from the morning with lasting, snowy precipitation from 1,000 meters, which offers a nice layer of snow from 1,500 meters,” explains the agency.
