After several weeks of waiting, The Cage is finally available in full on Netflix. But then, is a season 2 possible? We tell you everything!
Were you waiting for it? Good news, The Cage is finally available in full on Netflix since November 8. After Validé, Franck Gastambide offers us a real dive into the world of MMA, a still little-known sport.
Alongside Melvin Boomer in the title role, the director offers five intensely paced episodes which should undoubtedly appeal to fans of the genre. It must be said that Taylor Keita has everything of the hero we dream of seeing succeed.
Damaged by life, the young man has only one goal: to succeed in order to get out of it for good. Unfortunately for him, those around him are far from being as benevolent as he imagines. Most of those close to him are, in fact, determined to use him to achieve their ends.
A season 2 for La Cage on Netflix?
Suffice to say that we admire this character who never loses his composure despite all the low blows to which he is the victim throughout this fiction. But then, will fans be entitled to a sequel with a potential season 2? Nothing is official yet!
However, The Cage ends with an open ending. Warning spoilers, if you have not yet watched all the episodes, we advise you to move on. After his victory against Ibrahim (Bosh), Taylor celebrates his accomplishment in the locker room under the visibly annoyed eye of his best friend, Niko (Antoine Simony).
Rather than rejoicing in his friend's happiness, he is very jealous and when he comes across agents who have come to carry out a doping test, he hatches a terrible plan to bring Taylor down. He asks the agents to come back later to let his best friend enjoy.
In reality, its goal is simple! He wants to administer doping products to him without him realizing it. In this way, his victory will be canceled and everyone will think that he cheated to knock out his opponent.
La Cage season 1 ends with an open ending
A particularly cold gesture which offers us a cliffhanger full of suspense. A sequel therefore seems entirely possible. It remains to be seen whether the audiences of the Cage will be sufficiently satisfactory for it to be renewed for a season 2 by Netflix.
