The Los Angeles Lakers continue their search for consistency this season, holding a 6-4 record as they adapt under the guidance of new head coach JJ Redick.
Some elements, however, remain unchanged, notably the dominance of LeBron James. The 39-year-old superstar recorded his second consecutive triple-double in a commanding 123-103 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, contributing 19 points, 10 rebounds, and a remarkable 16 assists. This followed a stellar performance against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, where he notched 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists in a 116-106 triumph.
After the win against the Raptors, James reflected on his role in facilitating his teammates’ success. Austin Reaves showcased his best form this season with a career-high 27 points, supported by Anthony Davis who added 22 points.
“It’s always been my biggest threat,” James stated, as reported by Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times. “Seeing my teammates excel brings me joy, and being able to draw defenders while anticipating plays is invaluable. I strive to deliver the ball precisely where it needs to be, right on the money.”

Meanwhile, D’Angelo Russell, Cam Reddish, and Jaxson Hayes each contributed with at least 11 points, benefitting from James’s keen court vision.
“That’s always been my basketball pleasure, reading the game and setting up my teammates for easy opportunities to shoot, layup, dunk—whatever it may be,” added the four-time MVP, who has already achieved three triple-doubles this season.
Currently, James sits fourth on the NBA’s all-time assists leaderboard with 11,098 and counting, joining only Chris Paul of the San Antonio Spurs and Russell Westbrook of the Denver Nuggets as the only active players in the top 10.
