After ASSE's defeat in the Derby (0-1), Olivier Dall'Oglio presented himself at a press conference. The Greens coach expressed the disappointment of his staff and his players but also expressed his pride, considering that the commitment was total.

“I am proud of the players for what we asked of them”

Olivier Dall'Oglio (coach of ASSE): “We have a lot of regrets. In the first half it was difficult for us but we more or less managed to contain this team which had chances. Us too. But the second period leaves us with regrets. We fought, we stood together, we were organized, we were disciplined. We knew there would be a few set pieces and 2-3 chances that we could exploit, that was the case. On the other hand, we lacked the finish, that little extra which would have allowed us to equalize. »

“I'm quite proud of the players for what we asked of them. The commitment was total. They had the green jersey on their shoulders and I think they did it proud. But there are a lot of regrets, a lot of disappointments in the locker room. »

“I have difficulty with this word of encouraging defeat, we are disappointed”

“I have difficulty with this word of encouraging defeat, for the moment we are disappointed. Frankly, we are disappointed but I am obliged to take at least a little more perspective in relation to the work that we have done, in relation to the progress of certain players, and also to the discovery of another world for some. I'm quite happy with that because it gives us more interesting perspectives. »

Was the step too high tonight? “I think not. I think we could do something. That's why there were a lot of regrets among the staff, at the management level too, and the players. This clearly proves that there was something to be done. They also felt towards the end, they were pushing. Well, it was a little messier indeed, but I think there was a lot of fatigue too. So it wasn't easy. We leave here with regrets. But we know that we are also moving forward so it remains positive for the future. Lots of disappointments, lots of frustrations for the present. »
