Hansi Flick spoke after the match against Real Sociedad
The match between Real Sociedad and FC Barcelona, as is customary in La Liga, did not take place without a major scandal that will be widely reported. It happened in the 13th minute. That’s when Robert Lewandowski scored a goal with a shot from about eight meters. However, after the VAR analysis, the referees did not recognize the goal because, in their opinion, it was offside. However, it seems that they made a big mistake. “A terrible error of the semi-automatic offside system, which confused the defender and the striker. VAR showed Nayef’s shoe as if it belonged to Lewandowski” – this is how the situation was summed up on the Archivo VAR profile on X.
The situation was commented on by Hansi Flick, to whom Cuadra Fernandez, the main referee, said during the break that he could not do anything when VAR signaled that he was offside.
– I saw it and the decision was wrong. The goal was correct. We have to accept it, we shouldn’t blame the referee. We are all human and make mistakes. Today, however, it was a big mistake, said Hansi Flick.
– It wasn’t our day, our opponents played with great determination, we suffered and the goal was scored. I made some bad decisions, the coach added.
– We miss Lamine Yamal. I don’t know if he will return to the game after the national team break, the German emphasized.
After this defeat, FC Barcelona leads La Liga with 33 points in 13 games. They are still six points ahead of Real Madrid, but the defending champion has one match left – away to Valencia.
Hansi Flick’s team will play away against Celta Vigo in the next round, on November 23. The match starts at 21. Live coverage on Sport.pl and the Sport.pl LIVE application.
